LONG WAY DOWN This young lady Monday was
caught in midair while on the way to making a "Big
Splash" from the high dive at Nephi City's swimming
pool. The pool is open for the summer and despite
the thunder showers had a good crowd when our
photographer was there on Monday. The Weather man
is calling clear skies today through Friday with
some clouds for the weekend.
BIG WIND
Equipments at Greenline Equipment were hit by the
roof from the old Pexton Wholesale building. The 70
+ mile winds were responsible for damage all around
the valley with down trees, limbs and power poles
causing the loss of power to many homes. Nephi City
reports that all power was restored as of Sunday
morning and city crews will pickup limbs placed at
the curb starting yesterday. Nephi City crews will
be picking up debris from the wind damage done in
the community by Saturday's windstorm. This is not
a repeat of the spring cleanup, but the crews are
picking up broken limbs and other storm-related
debris. No other material should be placed along
the streets. Residents with specific questions may
call city hall. The city's street department will
begin this work on Tuesday, June 4th.
