REGION 12 TRACK AND FIELD CHAMPS • The Girls Track and Field team brought home the Region 12 trophy Thursday, May 10. They had a combined team score of 102, just edging out Delta who came in 2nd with a 100 team score.
REGION 12 TRACK AND FIELD CHAMPS • The Boys Track and Field team brought home the Region 12 trophy Thursday, May 10. They had a combined team score of 135. Delta came in 2nd with a team score of 121.
It has been quite a season for Juab Track and Field Teams. Hours of dedication, hard work, and practice surfaced last week as both the Girls Team and the Boys Team emerged in first place to claim the Region 12 Meet Championship Titles.
Scoring for the girls side in the individual events were Kashley Carter, 2nd in the 1600, 4th in the 800, 2nd in the 3200; Ivyann Oveson, 3rd in the 800, 4th in the 1600; Fallon Peterson, 1st in the Long jump, 4th in the High Jump; Rachelle Terry, 3rd in the High jump; Jessica Anderson, 2nd in the Javelin; Shamri Wright, 3rd in the Javelin; Aulani Comacho, 3rd in the Discus; Valerie Burke, 4th in the discus; Jentry Tolbert, 6th in the 100 Hurdles; Shelby Adams, 6th in the 300 Hurdles; McKenzie Wilson, 5th in the 100 M. Girls 4 X 100 took 3rd with McKenzie Wilson, Rebecca Evans, Meadow Kay, and Fallon Peterson. The Medley Relay took 1st with Rebecca Evans, Mckenzie Wilson, Ivy Oveson, and Kashley Carter. The 4 X400 Relay took 2nd with McKenzie Wilson, Jenny Dinkel, Alisha Richens, Ivy Oveson.
Final scoring for the girls Juab 102, Delta 100, Spanish Fork 93, North Sanpete 82, Carbon 79 and Payson 37.
The Boys Team continued to pound out points similar to the rest of the season finishing strong, Individual scoring for the boys were Jake Morgan, 1st in the 800, 1st in the 400; Jake Nielson, 1st in the Shot Put, 2nd in the Discus, 4th in the Javelin; Cole Wright, 5th in the 110 Hurdles, 2nd in the 300 Hurdles; Jeff Rowley, 2nd in the Javelin, 5th in the high jump; Josh Clark, 3rd in the javelin; Talon Bryan, 2nd in the High jump; Joel Allred, 3rd in the Long Jump; Bryant McKeachnie, 5th in the 800, 5th in the 3200; Jacob Bunker ,6th in the 1600, 4th in the 3200. 4 X 100 Relay took 2nd with Joe Jessop, Tristan Fulton, Dalton Gee and Joel Allred. The Medley Relay took 1st place with Tristan Fulton, Joel Allred, James Spencer and Jake Morgan. The 4 X 400 took 1st place with Wyatt Allen, James Spencer, Cole Wright and Jake Morgan.
Final scoring for the boys: Juab 135, Delta 121, Carbon 76, North Sanpete 60, Payson 41.
JHS Track Alumni also competed this week for conference titles: Wade Nielson in South Dakota for Southern Utah University; Audrey Adams Smith in Montana for Weber State University, and Russ Nielson in Georgia for Brigham Young University.
The Wasp Team will compete at the State Championships this coming Friday and Saturday at BYU. Juab has been named one of the top teams from the North who will be competing for the state title.
