Two Nephi residents are okay after Boston Marathon explosions |
Two Nephi residents participating in Monday's Boston Marathon are reported to be okay after two deadly explosions occurred near the finish line. Shannon McPherson and Nicholas LaBuda had left the area twenty minutes prior to the explosion, reported Cody Anderson, Nephi, who talked with LaBuda over the phone. Three people have been confirmed dead, including an 8-year-old boy, and as of Tuesday morning, more than 140 people had suffered injuries from the blast. Law enforcement and Federal investigators are still continuing their investigation into the motives behind the attack. Security around the world has been heightened, especially at hotels, landmarks, government buildings, transit hubs, and sporting events. |
