Melissa Ann Thomson Stewart
An Angel Walking on Earth


Melissa Ann Thomson Stewart, age 53, was born December 15, 1958 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Daniel L. and Marie Madsen Thomson. She is married to Brian Stewart.
Melissa passed away peacefully at her home in Nephi, Utah February 10, 2012 surrounded by her loving husband Brian and family, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Her strength thru it all was unsurpassed.
Melissa had a great sense of humor, and a wonderful appreciation for life with a passion for making beautiful things for her family and friends. She worked for 20 years with the SLC School District Food Services Department.
She loved her long motorcycle rides with Brian and always marveled at the beauty of nature. She touched everyone with her grace and beauty. She was our teacher.
Survived by her loving parents; husband,  Brian; children, Marty (Michelle) Matson; Trisha Matson; Jeff Matson; step-sons, Alan (Christine) Stewart; Eric Stewart; grandchildren, Hailey, Brayden, and Daniel Matson; Cassie, Trae, and Kaitlin Stewart; brother, Danny (Shirleen) Thomson of Camarillo, CA; sisters, Lisa (Dwight) Anderson and Allison (Mark) Cunha of Salt Lake City, UT; Jennie (Keith) Bronstein of Park City, UT; Also many loving nieces and nephews.
At her request there will be no visitation. A memorial in Melissa's honor for all of her family and friends to attend will be held at 12 noon, Saturday February 25, 2012 in the Nephi North Stake Center, 1125 North 400 East. Food will be served, casual attire, wear some Pink! A celebration of her life will be held in the spring at her home in Nephi, UT. Time and date to be announced later.
She will rest in peace with her loving husband in their "Little House".


James H. Pexton
1942-2012


James Harlow Pexton, age 69, passed away February 13, 2012 at his home in Nephi, Utah.
He was born May 2, 1942 in Nephi, Utah, to Blanche Olene Christensen and Harlow Wallace Pexton. He married Beverlee Blackett August 18, 1962, later divorced. He married Jane Moffit January 1, 1987, later divorced.
He graduated from Juab High School and Brigham Young University. He worked for Pexton Wholesale for over 30 years. He was active in the Juab Co Jeep Patrol, Jaycees, Elks Lodge, Ute Stampede Committee member, officer in Service Merchandisers of America.
He loved the cabin, the west desert and his west desert friends. He logged many hours as a pilot. He had a love of history and an ongoing thirst for knowledge.
Survived by his children, Troy (Michelle) Pexton, Tausha (Lance) Osborne, and Tiffany (Robbie) Taylor, all of Nephi, UT; 11 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, and 10 step-grandchildren; mother, Blanche C. Pexton; brothers, Leon Pexton and Richard Pexton; sister, Annette Johnson; step-children, Tammy Beck, Gary Moffit, Joe Moffit. Preceded in death by his father, Harlow W. Pexton and brother, Douglas Pexton.
Funeral services were held at 12 noon Friday, February 17, 2012 in the Nephi Stake Center, 351 North 100 West. Interment in Vine Bluff Cemetery, Nephi, Utah.
