Afton Geneva Garrett Lambert passed away January 22, 2010, at the age of 94 in Nephi, Utah. The family is grateful for the attentive care she received at the Nephi Hospital from her physician Dr. Grant Rasmussen and many other skilled and compassionate people. Her daughter, nephews, nieces and great-nieces, sisters and brother were loving and helpful to her for many years. She loved each of them and was loved by them in return.
She was born in Nephi, January 15, 1916, to Robert Pixton Garrett and Emma Jones Garrett. She was the third child in a family that included Joseph Garrett, Lucy Garrett Sanders, Roscoe Garrett, Elizabeth Garrett, and Corrine Garrett.
Afton married Clarence DeVoe Lambert in Las Vegas, Nevada, September 20, 1941. The marriage was solemnized in the Logan Temple. They enjoyed a wonderful and happy marriage. She was preceded in death by her husband who passed away January 30, 1997.

She later taught in Roosevelt and Logan, Utah and in Thornton, Idaho where she served as principal while Clarence taught at Ricks College.
She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints serving faithfully all her life in various ward and stake positions, including Sunday School Teacher, Junior Sunday School Coordinator, Relief Society President, and in the Stake Relief Society Presidency. She supported her husband as he served as Bishop twice.
She is survived by two daughters, Carolynn L. Anderson of Moore, Idaho, and Twilla L. Gordon (Dr. Ronald F. Gordon) of Ogden, Utah, six grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild; one sister Corrine Garrett and one brother, Roscoe Garrett, along with many loving nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by one grandson, Stephen Mark Anderson; her father Robert Pixton Garrett, her mother Emma Jones Garrett, sisters Lucy Garrett Sanders (Glade Sanders), Elizabeth Garrett, and a brother Joseph Garrett (Ellen).
