One of the newest discoveries to shake the field of paleontology was that of the Jarkov Mammoth in Siberia. Famous paleontologists have spent many years slowly recovering it under harsh conditions. What they have uncovered so far is a perfectly preserved mammoth carcass that is over 10,000 years old. Hair and bone samples have been removed, but they are unable at this time to reach the internal organs because of possible decay. Other mammoth discoveries include the "Baby Dima," a juvenile mammoth carcass that paleontologists were able to recover blood samples from. As for cloning the Jarkov Mammoth, the debate is still on. Scientists worry about companionship (they were a very social animal) and environment.
