Clyde Elmer

Clyde Rawson Elmer, 76, passed away at his home De. 12, 2003.

He was born June 24, 1927 in Ogden, Utah to William Jorgen and Sarah Elizabeth Rawson Elmer. He married Ruth Inez Smith April 2, 1946 in Columbia, South Carolina. She preceded him in death March 7, 1991 in Salt Lake City. He married Lois Marie Thomas May 16, 1992 in Kearns. He was a veteran of WW II. He worked and retired after 20 years of service from the Veteran's Hospital. He loved camping and family reunions.

He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day-Saints. His greatest desire was to go to the temple, which he accomplished on March 10, 1999 in the Manti Temple. On October 13, 2001, Clyde's marriage to Ruth was solemnized in the Mt. Timpanogas Temple.

He is survived by his wife, Lois; four sons and one daughter Raymond (Patricia) Elmer, Jerry (Lynda) Elmer, Michael (Sheila) Elmer, Robert Elmer, Shonia (Steve) Martinez; six stepchildren Gary, Sherald, Douglas Thomas, Debbie Tidwell, Shirley Barlow and Shauna Chlarson; 38 grandchildren; 64 great-grandchildren; two brothers and one sister, Leslie (Gai) Elmer, Arthur (Beverly) Elmer and Louise (Stan) Badgenski.

Clyde was preceded in death by his wife Ruth, parents, four brothers William, Laurence, Elden, and Jack; and one son, George "Jody".

Funeral services were held Tuesday, Dec. 16 in Nephi. Interment for Clyde and his son Jody will be at the Redwood Memorial Cemetery, 6500 South Redwood Road, West Jordan, Utah.


Norma Harkins

Norma Evans Christiansen Harkins, age 85, passed away Dec. 15, 2003 in Provo, Utah. She was born Aug. 22, 1918 to Leonard Webb and Leah Caroline Foote Evans. She married Wesley John Christiansen April 19, 1937 in Manti, Utah. He died while serving his country in the Navy, Dec. 18, 1944. She later married Edison Amos Harkins, June 26, 1948.

Norma was an active member of the LDS Church. She was a member of the Variette Club and of the DUP, Fort Wall Camp in Nephi. She enjoyed art and sharing her work with others. She loved spoiling any of her 22 grandchildren and 55 great grandchildren.

She is survived by children, Janice (Richard) Parkin of Layton, Richard (Anita) Christiansen of Highland, and Alice (Don) Harris of Springville; 22 grandchildren; and 55 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by husbands Wesley and Edison; sons, Larry Dean Christiansen and Edison Amos Harkins III; and two sisters Lucille E. Gadd and Bernice E. Archibald, who passed away this year.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, Dec. 18, 2003 in the Springville 13th Ward, 760 North 400 East. Friends may call Wednesday, Dec. 17, 2003 at Anderson Funeral Home, 94 West 300 North, Nephi, from 7-8 p.m. and one hour prior to services at the church in Springville.
