Should amendments to the zoning districts in Nephi be
adopted?
Those zoning changes will address where various types
of day care, preschool, music lessons, and other home-based
and stand-alone educational activities may be conducted as
either allowed or conditional uses.
A public hearing will be held by Nephi City Council on
Tuesday, Dec. 16, at 6:30 p.m. to discuss this and two other
proposals.
"We may need to make some changes to come into
compliance with state law," said Chad Brough, mayor.
The council will also take public comment on proposed
amendments to the descriptions of commercial and industrial
zoning districts, addressing where those activities may be
permitted.
In addition, the council will consider the rezoning of
property owned by Central Valley Medical Center at 1500
North from Main Street to 280 West from Industrial
Development (ID) to Combined Use (CU).
"We have been asked to look at the zones where
day-care, preschools, music lessons, and home-based
educational activities will be allowed and consider
re-zoning," said Brough.
