The Nephi City Police Department is in the process of
moving their headquarters.
The old office, located inside the city building, is
being abandoned for the new and roomier site just north of
the county building in the space once occupied by Juab
School District offices.
"The school district is completely moved out," said
Mayor Chad Brough. "The offices are now largely completed
and the police department will spend the next few days
moving."
Brough said the new space was a much better location
for the department.
He invited council members to visit the new location
and compare the two offices.
"This should work out to be a good building for the
police department and has the room the department needs,"
said Brough. "There is no comparison with the old cramped
office they were working out of."
The building became available to the city through a
three-way exchange of property.
The school district purchased the former hospital
clinic building, the city traded property to Central Valley
Medical Center, and Juab School District agreed to sell
their former office to the city for a police department
office.
The building once was an LDS Seminary building when
Juab High School occupied the now county building.
