The Nebo Loop Scenic Route is now closed for the season.
"Due to the snow conditions and weather forecast, we have closed the gates for public safety and reducing resource damage on the Nebo Loop Road at Devil's Kitchen and the Santaquin Junction," said Doug Jones, District Ranger for the Spanish Fork Ranger District, Uinta-Wasatch-Cache N.F./Region 4.
That means the road is closed to normal vehicular traffic from Devils Kitchen to Santaquin Junction.
"You can still drive up Payson Canyon and down the Santaquin Canyon Road to Santaquin, or up to Devils Kitchen," said Jones. "However, this could change as we get more snow."
LuWayne Walker, commissioner, said he had received a notice from the Forest Service telling of the closure and asking him to please let his constituents know this information as appropriate.
