  • Nephi City Christmas Light Parade for 2010

What is your favorite part of Christmas? Spending time and acting out family traditions with loved-ones, sledding, caroling, waiting for Santa to drop down the chimney to leave presents for the good boys and girls, or just eating all the unavoidably delicious treats?
Whatever Christmas means to you, Nephi City will be celebrating "An Old Fashioned Christmas" this year at the Nephi City Christmas Light Parade on Saturday, November 27, 2010.
There is still time to put together a parade entry, which is a great way of creating new Christmas memories, not to mention a chance to win fame and fortune. Remember that you, the community, is what makes the Christmas Light Parade so fun to watch, so use your creativity and electrical ingenuity to share your ideas of what "An Old Fashioned Christmas" means to you. Please let us know as soon as possible if you are building an entry so we can get you your parade number so you will be able to light it on your float for easy reading.
The Parade will begin at approximately 6:15 after a quick lighting ceremony to turn on the lights at the Old Mill Park. The parade will run from 300 South to 600 North. Light sticks will be handed out along the parade route for the kids, so bundle up and bring the family for an evening of celebrating Nephi's new Christmas tradition.
After the parade is over, the floats have the option of parking around the city park for voting. There will be a voting booth there at the park, or you can drop your vote in the city utility drop box if you don't want to go to the park afterwards. There will be a first, second, third, and grand prize. The grand prize will be awarded to the entry that best fits the theme of the parade. Make sure you decide which floats are your favorites and vote for them, the winners will receive some great prizes.
If you would like to see slide shows of the Christmas Parade from the past two years you can visit the link at www.nephi.utah.gov to see what has been done before and maybe get a few brainstorms for your own float.
Merry Christmas! See you on Main Street!
