The 2005-06 Sterling Scholars for Juab High School
have been chosen. After an intense application process, the
board has individually selected the students that will each
represent a certain area.
The school winners are as follows: General, Aubree
Nielsen; English, Erin Evans; Business and Marketing,
Mavanie Stanley; Speech and Drama, Chance Kendall; Art, Wyet
Ingram; Music, Rachel Bradford; Social Science, Josh Palmer;
Science, Roger Thorpe; Family and Consumer Science, Hilary
Hitchcock; Trade and Technical Engineering, Ashlee Jacobson;
Foreign Language, Mandy Ramirez; Math, Jeana Sutherland; and
Dance, McKenzie Lundell.
The new head of the Sterling Scholar Program is Mr.
Carl VanLeuven, who is very excited about this year. He
said, "Benefits the (Region) winner is going to have an all
expenses paid scholarship to any state university. It's very
prestigious to have it on a resume to be given to businesses
or colleges either in or out of state. Students who apply
and are accepted have to make a portfolio. Those who
complete this can take it to an employer or colleges to show
an accurate reflection of their best work."
