Elaine Bowles
Ruth Elaine Jensen Bowles passed away Nov. 22, 2003 in
Provo, Utah. She was born Feb. 20, 1923 in Fairview, Utah,
to Levern and Orabelle Hansen Jensen. She Married Jesse Earl
Bowles, Aug. 14, 1947 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He
preceded her in death.
She attended school in Fairview and Mt. Pleasant,
graduating from North Sanpete High School in 1941. She
graduated from Brigham Young University in 1945 with a
Bachelor of Science Degree in Education. She taught
elementary school for six years. After graduate study she
was Media Coordinator at Juab High School. She was a
dedicated member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day
Saints serving in many positions. She was politically
active, serving in many positions in the Republican Party.
She was an active member of the General Federation of
Women's Clubs of Utah, serving in state and local club
offices.
Elaine is survived by her son, Layne Bowles; 3
granddaughters; sister, Betty McKay Hopkin; brother, Max L.
Jensen. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband,
and two brothers, Charles Jensen and Jack Jensen.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday
(today), Nov. 26, 2003 in the Nephi 8th Ward, 222 South 100
East. Friends may call at the church one hour prior to the
services. Interment will be in Vine Bluff Cemetery,
Nephi.
