Condie Cowan
Clarence Condie Cowan, age 87, passed away Oct. 25, 2000,
at his home in Nephi, Utah.
He was born June 9, 1913, in Nephi to Joseph William and
Mary Ellen Sutton Cowan. He married Dee Ivie July 1, 1937,
in Nephi. The marriage was later solemnized in the Manti LDS
Temple Sept. 30, 1954. She died Dec. 5, 1982.
He served in WW II and was active in the community
serving on the School Board, Ute Stampede Committee, and the
Lions Club. He coached Nephi's baseball team and was an avid
sportsman.
He is survived by two daughters and one son, Sandra Goble
of Salt Lake City, Connie (Gordon) Kelson, and Michael
(Tonya) Cowan, all of Nephi; 15 grandchildren; and 17
great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by Todd
Kelson, a grandson; brothers, Paul, Joe, Jack, and Doug; and
sister, Lyall.
Funeral services were held Oct. 30, 2000, in the Nephi
LDS 8th Ward. Burial in Vine Bluff Cemetery, Nephi,
Utah.
