An Arizona woman died Wednesday morning, Oct. 6, when she
lost control of her vehicle near Mona.
Carolyn Scheer, 44, Tempe, Arizona, was pronounced dead
at the scene after her south-bound vehicle veered into the
median between lanes and then overcorrected to the
right.
"Her vehicle rolled five and a half times," said Chris
Cramer, Utah Highway Patrol spokesperson.
The accident occurred at 7 a.m. "Troopers at the scene
think Scheer may have fallen asleep at the wheel," said
Cramer.
UHP Trooper Greg Kelsey was the investigating officer,
said Cramer.
Scheer was southbound on Interstate 15 near milepost 228
when she lost control of her vehicle. It was estimated that
her vehicle was traveling at approximately 90 mph at the
time of the accident.
No one else was in the vehicle.
