Sheri Sue Pexton
1969 ~ 2018

Our little Sheri, our sweetheart, mother, daughter, and sister, passed peacefully into eternity on Thursday morning, September 27, 2018, at Utah Valley Hospital in Provo, Utah, from a sudden complication following a courageous battle with a long, lingering illness. Sheri Sue Peterson was born on November 13, 1969, in Provo, Utah, to John Milo and Lena Corinne Charlesworth Peterson, the third of eight children.

Sheri arrived in the world full of boundless energy and enthusiasm. All who knew her as a child were touched by her curiosity of the world around her, her kind, compassionate, and forgiving nature, and her faith and devotion to the Restored Gospel of Jesus Christ. Sheri shared her energy, enthusiasm, compassion, and faith throughout her life. In every way, she valiantly endured to the end.

Sheri grew up in Orem and Elk Ridge, Utah, and graduated from Payson High School in 1988, where she was a member of the National Honor Society, the Scottish Dancers, and the Concert Choir. She made many cherished and lifelong friends.

Sheri attended Brigham Young University in Provo, where she met the love of her life, Kelly Leon Pexton, whom she married for time and all eternity in the Manti Temple on July 20, 1990. Kelly and Sheri graduated from BYU on the same day in April 1992, and then moved to La Jolla, California, where she worked as a teacher in the San Diego Unified School District, the Catholic Diocese of San Diego, and later in Imperial and Moreno Valley, California. Sheri used her gifted personality to transfer her contagious enthusiasm for math to her students, who performed well, loved her, and whose names she remembered throughout her life.

Sheri is the mother of Sarah Brooke and Tanner Kelly, who are the treasure and joy of her life. As a lifelong member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Sheri served in the Primary Presidency, and as a Sunday School Teacher, where she shared her love of church history. Sheri will be keenly remembered for her compassion and many acts of selfless service. Every day, she lit every room and warmed every heart.

Sheri is survived by her husband of Moreno Valley, California, her daughter, Sarah Brooke (Jonathan) Sterling, her son, Tanner Kelly Pexton, who is currently serving in the Mexico, Mexico City South Mission, her parents of Fillmore, four sisters: Julie (Kent) Haskell of Elk Ridge, Michelle (Eric) Brady of Lindon, Jonene (Spencer) Scoville of Highland, and Christine (Stephen) Schofield of Cedar City, and two brothers: John (Jenny) Peterson of Prosper, Texas, and Brian (Jessica) Peterson of Alba, Texas. She was preceded in death by her sister, Lisa, and by her mother-in-law, Monna Lee Pexton.

Funeral services will be held at the Elk Ridge Second Ward Chapel, at 259 Alpine Drive, in Elk Ridge, Utah, at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 3, 2018, with a viewing to be held two hours prior to the service. Burial will be at 3:00 p.m. in the Vine Bluff Cemetery, in Nephi, Utah. A memorial service will be held in the Hidden Springs Ward, at 23300 Old Lake Road, in Moreno Valley, California, at a later date to be announced.

Ethan M Lund
1/12/1982 – 9/24/2018

Our hearts are broken with the loss of our dear, kind, loving, happy, helpful, and hardworking loved one, Ethan Lund.

Ethan was his dad’s (Merrell) best friend, constant companion, and work partner. He was always kind and attentive to his grandmother (Marilyn). He left his brother (Riley) and his uncle (Allan) sad beyond measure; along with all his other family and friends.

Ethan Lund was born in Nephi, Utah on January 12, 1982. He was a member of the Pipe Fitters Union, working around the country, recently on jobs with his dad. He loved fishing; horseback riding on Mt. Nebo; Ute Stampede times at Grandma Marilyn’s; and playing catch in the evenings with his dad, or hitting balls around the golf course that he and his dad made. Times spent with his Nephi-cousins: Christina, Janelle, Allison, Kaleb and Saige were special to him.

We lost Ethan on September 24, 2018, in Emery County.

He is survived by his father and step-mother, Merrell and Melody Lund; his mother and step-father, Valenti and Jeff Kymer; his brother Riley Lund; his sister Samantha, his grandmothers Marilyn Steele and Pauline Wood, and many other extended family members.

The following services will be held on Saturday, October 6, 2018: Ferron, Utah, at 10:30 AM in the Senior Citizens Building; Emery City, Utah, at 1:00 PM in the LDS Church Building.

Rest in peace, Ethan; you are gone from us for a time, but you are with many others who love you; thanks for the beautiful memories.
