SOMETHING SPOOKY Maybe it was
mysteriously planted by aliens, or the Great
Pumpkin came and left it for Linus. However it may
have gotten there, it was a fitting ornament for
the headstone of John Zabriskie who was born on
Halloween, Oct. 31, 1916. Our photographer took
this photo before the frosts of September so that
we all might share this spooky photo. The plant
sported at least one big pumpkin and a smaller one
at the end of the vine. Terry Kay, Mona, thought it
was very fitting for her father's grave although
she had no idea how it got there. She said that the
Vine Bluff Cemetery caretakers had taken great
pains to mow around the plant. Halloween is now
less than 7 days away, so if like Linus, you want
to await the Great Pumpkin you might try Vine
Bluff.
