Joy Gahn
1924-2005
Joy Lorraine Booth Gahn, age 80, passed away October 13,
2005 at the home of her daughter in Sandy, Utah.
She was born November 7, 1924 in Nephi, Utah, to Thomas
Glen and Zora Brock Booth. She married Harold Gahn April 25,
1955 in the Mesa Arizona LDS Temple. He preceded her in
death.
She graduated from San Diego State University with a
degree in Medical Technology and specialized in
Microbiology. She later received a Masters degree in public
administration from the University of Utah. She loved
learning and was a hard worker.
Survived by her children, Rebecca L. (Michael) Pitts of
Sandy UT; Glen B.(Stephanie) Gahn of Logan, UT; 12
grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death
by two sisters and one brother.
Funeral services were held Saturday, October 15, 2005 in
the Nephi Stake Center, 351 N 100 W. Interment in Vine Bluff
Cemetery, Nephi, Utah, under the direction of the Anderson
Funeral Home.
LeRoi Nelson
1937-2005
Claude LeRoi Nelson, died at home October 11, 2005, after
a long battle with cancer. Born April 5, 1937, in Santaquin,
Utah, to Claude H. Nelson and Ellen (Nellie) Nelson. Married
Veleda Southards, later divorced. Served in the U.S. Navy
aboard the ship Ticonderoga. Was self-employed in carpets
and draperies. He lived thirty years in the Seattle area and
later moved to Nephi, Utah. He loved camping, fishing and
his family. Was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of
Latter-Day Saints.
He is survived by his companion, Sandy Baker, daughters,
Kerry (Don) Arlow, Olympia, Washington; Laurie Gaidjiergis,
Bothell, Washington; son, Kelly (Tern) Nelson, Baring,
Washington. Seven grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren.
Sisters: Carolyn (Robert) Jarrett, Roosevelt, Utah; LeRene
Guymon, Nephi.
LeRoi requested that his body be donated to the
University of Utah School of Medicine. Memorial Services
will be at a later date.
