Getting the job done…in 25 minutes or less. That's exactly what council members did at Levan Town Council meeting Wednesday, October 12.

Items on the agenda:

• CIB (Community Impact Board) meeting to receive "wish list" for Levan Town projects will be held Tuesday, October 25 at 5:00 p.m. in the Levan Town Hall. Any projects that council members want considered for grant money has to be on the agenda for this meeting. All projects would be for the upcoming year.

Council member Corey Christensen would like to see park projects be on the list. He said that he would like to see grant money for a new park bowery.

• Election judges were picked for the upcoming November election. Three "election judges" and one "alternate judge" needed to be appointed by the council. Several names were submitted to Mayor Bob Shepherd by the other council members, and the following people were deemed suitable for the job: Rose Godek, Jessie Ann Wood, Marilyn Mangelson, Florence Peterson, Mary Rosquist, and Graham Misbach.

Elections will be held November 8. If you need to register to vote, you can do so at the county clerk's office, 160 N. Main, Nephi before October 19th. Satellite registration can be done through Candace Jackson on October 28th or the 31st.

Christensen wanted to encourage everyone in Levan to get out and exercise their right to vote.

• Councilman Christensen wanted citizens of Levan to know that natural gas prices will be going up 50% over last year's increase and that citizens should have their furnaces checked to make sure they are in working order, and have filters cleaned or changed to maximize efficiency.
