Cemetery records for the city's two cemeteries have
been computerized through the joint efforts of the city
recorder's office and the Parks and Cemeteries
Department.
Blair Painter, recorder, and Phillip Baker
demonstrated the new system for the city councilmen.
A detailed mapping system pinpoints each available
gravesite as well as sites that are reserved and occupied.
One can put in a name, death date, veteran, and other
information to help find a certain location of a deceased
person. Also, one can find out if perpetual fees have been
paid.
All information can be accessed via a website or
through the recorder's office. For the website address
contact Painter at Nephi City Hall.
This project was funded through a state historical
grant and was four years in the making.
