Levan now has a new ambulance. Well, not entirely, but
it is new to the folks who run on the ambulance crew.
The City of Moroni sold their old ambulance to Levan
for $500.00, practically a donation, but well-needed and
welcomed all the same.
Bruce Rowley, an EMT for Levan, reported that this
ambulance has approximately 50,000 miles on it and is about
an 1989 model. The old ambulance had over 100,000 miles and
was an '84 model. The new one has a diesel engine also.
Although pleased with this new ambulance, Rowley asked
the council to consider getting a grant for a brand new
ambulance. "That's how Scipio got their new ambulance."
Rowley also said that there will be two new EMTs on
the crew. Kameron Kuhni and Chad Phillips have said they
were interested in running on the crew. This would bring the
total up to six EMTs: four Intermediate and two basic.
Rowley reported that there are other Basic-trained EMTs in
the area who would also like to be a part of the crew.
Councilman Ryan Aagard wished to commend the ambulance
staff for providing a wonderful service to the town of
Levan. The Levan EMTs are strictly on a volunteer basis and
receive only the knowledge and thanks that they are doing
something worthwhile for the citizens of Levan.
