June "David" Memmott
June "David" Memmott, age 76, died Oct. 18, 2001, at his
home in Garland, Utah. He was born June 6, 1925, in Levan,
Utah, the son of James Arthur and Vinnie Elizabeth Angell
Memmott. He married Ardella Kay Peck in 1961 in Garland.
He had lived in California, Nevada and Utah. He was an
Army veteran of WWII. He had worked as a rancher, a truck
driver, in construction and at Thiokol Chemical
Corporation.
He was a member of the Utah Old Time Fiddlers, playing
harmonica in the band and entertaining at care facilities
throughout the area. He enjoyed the activities at the Senior
Citizen Center in Tremonton and swimming at the Natatorium.
In recent years he was a crossing guard at the Garland Grade
School.
He was a High Priest in the Garland 4th Ward of The
Church of Jesus Christ where he had served as a Scout
leader, a home teacher, in the Sunday School presidency and
a High Priest group leader.
He is survived by his wife, Ardella; children, Keith
(Sandy) Peck of Brigham City, Gloria (Marvin) Taylor of
Sacramento, California, Janet Ann Memmott of Logan, and Earl
(Elizabeth) Memmott of Smithfield; seven grandchildren; five
great-grandchildren; brothers, Dan, Pete, Tom and Hele; a
sister, Ethal Cole; a niece, Kim McGregor, who lived with
David and Ardella. He was preceded in death by his parents;
a brother, Arthur; sisters, May Robinson and Rose
Memmott.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Oct. 24, 2001,
11:00 a.m. at the Garland 4th Ward Chapel, 175 South Main.
Interment will be in the Tremonton Riverview Cemetery.
