Rock Joseph Lopour
1961 ~ 2014

Our beloved husband, father, brother, son, uncle and friend, Rock Joseph Lopour, passed away peacefully with his wife and children by his side on September 7, 2014.
When Rock was born December 10th, 1961 to Joe and Brenda Lopour in Huron, South Dakota, little did they know how fitting his name would be. Rock moved from Mitchell, South Dakota to Utah, at the age of 10 where he started 4th grade. Rock made many childhood friends who still remain very dear to his heart. Rock graduated from Cedar High School in 1980 where he participated in football, wrestling and rodeo. Rock was very athletic and loved being a part of such activities. He was very dedicated and committed to what he was doing at that time. That would probably explain why he excelled on the football field as he played 4 years for S.U.S.C. He lettered varsity all 4 years along with receiving outstanding student, all district and all conference. Rock was privileged enough to play with two of his brothers and have his dad as one of his coaches. During that time Rock was married and had two children, Jessica and Taylor; they later divorced. He taught one year at Emery High School, coached at East High, worked for Albertson's and other miscellaneous jobs. On March 23, 2000 he met the love of his life LeAnn White Oliver. LeAnn often recalls that she thought he loved her kids more than her, because for the first 3 months of their courtship he planned dates and activities that included her and the kids. They became a family on November 25, 2000. Rock's love and dedication for his family never stopped. He was found along the side lines at every baseball and football game his son participated in, but his real passion was found on the wrestling mat where he was not only a coach but a dad. In between sporting events he watched his girls in dance reviews, cheer camps and daddy daughter dates. He and Rylee also took piano lessons together and played a duet with her at the Christmas recital. Rock and LeAnn were truly each other's best friend, always seen together and showed much love and commitment to each other every day. As a family, Rock made sure they tried new things often. They became lovers of Tuacahn Amphitheater, the Colorado Rockies, coffee ice cream, trips to South Dakota and anything else that included his family. Rock was an amazing business man who demonstrated great leadership. He was truly a man of integrity, honesty and loyalty. He was a friend to all and once you were his friend you were a friend for life. Rock was currently working as Executive Sales Manager for Geneva Pipe. He enjoyed the challenges and relationships he had there. Rock was a hard worker and was fair in all his dealings. He is truly a gentle giant among men. He will always be the Rock to his family and friends. Rock will always be loved and never forgotten but sorely missed. He left a huge impression on all those he touched. We love you Rock!
He is survived by his wife LeAnn, children: Tyler (Nikki), Rylee, Karlee, Jessica and Taylor; his father Joe (Jean) Lopour, brothers: David (Pam), Dirk and Mike; in-laws Hap and Bonnie White; brothers-in-law Justin (Kecia), Tyson (Jennifer), Richard (Rebekah)White and many nephews and nieces.
He was proceeded in death by his mother Brenda, grandparents; Jack and Velma Lopour, Elmer and Ellen Waldron.
Services will be held at 10:00 am Saturday September 13, 2014 at the Hurricane Stake Center. 677 South 700 West, Hurricane Utah. Family and friends may call Friday evening from 6-8 pm and one hour prior to the services at the church. Interment will be in the Nephi Vine Bluff Cemetery, at 4pm.
