Bonnie Jean Martin
1927-2009

Bonnie Jean McPherson Martin, our beloved wife, mother, and grandmother passed away September 21, 2009 in the presence of her loving family.
Bonnie was a spirited, amusing, fun, and loving woman. She was born in Mills, UT August 21, 1927 to Floyd and Clora May Pierce McPherson where she grew up and later met the love of her life in Scipio, Utah. She married Howard Martin February 9, 1947.  Later they were sealed in the St. George temple.
Raised on a farm, she learned at a young age the value of hard work. She kept this work ethic with her throughout her life. She went on to graduate as a cosmetologist right after High School. Her career in cosmetology allowed her to express her passion for beauty. This talent excelled and she went on to manage the Hollywood Beauty College in Las Vegas for seven years. She served in various callings in the LDS church including the youth programs.
She held her most important calling as wife and mother. She set a wonderful example to her children to work hard, study and excel in school, and also in homemaking skills.
Like the apostle Paul, if there was anything beautiful, of good report, or praiseworthy, she sought after these things. Her home, talents, and taste were refined and uplifted her family and friends.
She enjoyed gardening, canning, camping, fishing, dancing, sewing, cooking, painting, shopping, and visiting with her friends. If you were a friend of Bonnie, you were her friend for life. She served others in many ways including a time when she worked in the social services in Juab County. She helped many others through out her life.
She was always concerned and caring toward her grandchildren who would most gratefully receive phone calls of love continually.
Family holidays will never be forgotten because of Bonnie. Details from the delicious food and fun games are forever nostalgic to her posterity.
Bonnie was the kind of person everyone loved to be around. Her wit and sense of humor was unique and would even catch you off guard at times. This wit matched her loving husband’s and this helped them throughout their life together. We have all learned great lessons from Bonnie such as, to not take life too seriously.
She is survived by her husband, Howard; children, Jeanne Noble and Kevin (Kristy) Martin, 12 grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren, and her sister LeAnna (Dennis) Christensen. Preceded in death by her great-grandson, Alex Noble.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, September 26, 2009 in the Nephi North Stake Center, 1125 North 400 East. Interment in Vine Bluff Cemetery, Nephi, Utah.
