Yes, Juab High School, it’s that time. Homecoming week is right around the corner. It’s the week you’ve all been waiting for.
On Saturday, September 22, clubs, classes, teams, and organizations will hit the streets armed with paint brushes and the school colors. A JHS wonderland will be created by mid-afternoon on Main Street.
Monday will mark the beginning of five splendid days that we all know as homecoming.
Monday will be best dress day, as tradition suggests. There will be an assembly to honor the homecoming nominees and vote for the couple that will represent your class. In the evening, there will be a badminton tournament. The tournament will start at 7:00 p.m.
For seniors, Monday is also college day. Representatives from Southern Utah University, Utah College of Applied Technology, LDS Business College, College of Eastern Utah, University of Utah, Dixie State, Brigham Young University, Utah State University, Weber State University, Snow College, Westminster, Utah Valley State College, and Salt Lake Community College will visit our campus. Seniors are provided with this great opportunity to visit with the colleges of your choice about scholarships, tuition, grants, and any questions you may have about college life.
Tuesday is hillbilly dress up day. Tuesday is also the popular battle of the sexes night. There will be all sorts of crazy competitions and games followed by a rockin’ dance. It starts and 6:00.
Wednesday is rock star/diva dress up day. Dress up like your favorite rocker. There will be a barbeque at 5:30 p.m. and the pep-rally at 7:00 p.m.
Thursday is the day seniors white wash the “J” day.
Underclassmen, there is something for you on Thursday too. The volleyball team will face Layton Christian at 7:00 p.m., and there will be a lip sync concert at 8:30.
Friday is crimson and gold day; get decked out and show your school spirit. There will be a parade at 4:00 p.m. with wacky floats created by students and clubs. At 7:00 p.m. the Juab football team will kick off against the Gunnison Valley Bulldogs.
Saturday will be the homecoming dance.
