Darwin Kay
Graveside services held in Mona for Darwin Kay
Darwin Arthur Kay, age 81, passed away Aug. 27, 2003
at his home in Mona, Utah.
He was born May 21, 1922 at Star Ranch, Utah, to
George Arthur and Vera Houghton Kay. He married Catherine
Anne Montgomery Dec. 22, 1956 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
He is survived by his wife, Anne, of Mona; children,
Steve C. Kay and Shaun Kay, both of Mona, Darwin Odgen,
Kevan Ogden, and Ellen Jenkins;11 grandchildren; and 4
great-grandchildren; sisters, twin sister, Dorothy Carter,
and Enid Cook.
Graveside services were held Sept. 2, 2003 in the Mona
Cemetery.
Margaret Latimer
Services for Margaret Latimer to be held September 4th in
Nephi
Margaret "Marger" Wright Latimer, age 85, passed away
Aug. 28, 2003 in Bountiful, Utah.
She was born May 17, 1918 in Nephi, Utah, to John
Franklin and Lilly Ann Pexton Wright. She married Arthur
Loran Latimer April 28, 1937 in Pocatello, Idaho. He passed
away March 3, 1998.
She was educated in Utah and attended Idaho State
University. She was employed by the Selective Service System
during WW II. and worked in the Bannock County Assessor's
Office for ten years. From 1957 until 1966 she worked in the
Accounting Department at Idaho State University. She managed
the Avis Car Rental Agency at the airport in Pocatello until
retirement. She was a member of the LDS Church and served as
dance director of the Pocatello Stake. She was a member of
Rhythm Dance Club, Corresponding Secretary of Soroptimist
Club of Pocatello and member of the Epsilon Sigma Alpha
Sorority. At age 16 she performed in a floorshow at the Salt
Air Pavilion in Salt Lake City.
She is survived by 7 grandchildren; 26
great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great-grandchildren. She
was preceded in death by her only daughter, Lynne Adele
Latimer Mathews July 28, 1980.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday,
Sept. 4, 2003 at the Anderson Funeral Home, 94 West 300
North Nephi, Utah. Friends may call one hour prior to the
services. Interment will be in Vine Bluff Cemetery Nephi,
Utah.
Betty Steggell
Services to be held September 3rd for Betty Steggell
Betty Anita Allred Steggell, died Aug. 28, 2003. Betty
was born April 17, 1942 in Moroni, Utah, to Leslie Ferdinand
Allred and Reva Fietkau, the youngest of four. She enjoyed
the outdoors while hunting, camping, and fishing with her
family.
She graduated from Provo High School in 1960, attended
LDS Business School, and worked several years as a certified
Home Health Care provider. Betty was endowed in the Provo
LDS Temple on Aug. 25, 1993.
Betty is survived by her children, Donna (Doug)
Monson, Michael (Tonya) Johnson, Les (Michelle) Johnson,
Cody (Wendy) Steggell, and Shad (Emily) Steggell; 16
grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren Cheyenne and Drayton;
brothers, R. LaMar (Loeta) Allred, and Fred R. (Arleen)
Allred. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother
Leslie Dee (Dixie) Allred.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Sept. 3,
2003at11:00 a.m. in the Levan 1st Ward Chapel, 25 North 100
East. Friends may call Wednesday morning at the church
one hour prior to services. Interment, Provo City
Cemetery.
Oris Whiting
Oris Edward Whiting, age 78, passed away Aug. 30, 2003
at his home in Nephi, Utah.
He was born May 18, 1925 in Nephi to Edward Monroe and
Anna Lena Nelson Whiting. He married Anna Sherliene Otteson
April 8, 1946. She died Sept. 22, 1965. He married Helen
Estelle Poulson July 18, 1968 in Salt Lake City, Utah. Their
marriage was later solemnized in the Provo LDS Temple.
He was born and raised in Nephi and retired from Hill
Air Force Base.
He is survived by his wife, Helen, of Nephi; children,
Dorothy (Pat) Van Fleet of Kaysville, Glade Oris Whiting of
Kirbyville, Texas; stepchildren, Chris Harrison of Orem, and
Pam Harrison of Roy; 17 grandchildren; 21
great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchild; brothers,
Merle, Delose, Norman, Bud, Blaine and Ray; sister, Deloris
Hanks. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Diana Joy
McCoy, and a son, Karl Monroe Whiting; brother, Glenn
Whiting; and sisters, Ruby Vonda and Selma Green.
Funeral services were held Sept. 2, 2003 in the Nephi
1st Ward. Interment in Vine Bluff Cemetery, Nephi, Utah.
Bill Bilanzich
Memorial service held for Bill Bilanzich
Billie Bilanzich, age 71, passed away Aug. 24, 2003 in
Nephi, Utah.
He was born Nov. 28, 1931 in Murray, Utah, to Mike and
Josephine Bilanzich. He married Rose Marie Park July 4, 1964
in Las Vegas, Nevada.
He served his county as a Marine from 1951-1954. He
enjoyed his garden and yard.
He is survived by his wife, Rosie Park Bilanzich;
children, Jeff Morgan, Robyn Bradley, Shelly (Pat)
Patterson; 4 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by 7
brothers, Mike, John, Tony, Steve, George, Rudy and Frank; 2
sisters, Emma and Annie.
A memorial service was held Aug. 30, 2003 at Mt View
Christian Assembly of God, Midvale, Utah. In lieu of
flowers, donations may be made at Kings Nursery, 250 South
Main Nephi, for a tree to be planted in his memory.
