Poulsen is crowned Miss Juab County 2018

MISS JUAB COUNTY 2018 • Kysia Poulsen, daughter of Chad and Heather Poulsen of Levan, was crowned Miss Juab County 2018. Her attendants are Hannah Robins,1st attendant, daughter of Dr. Rick and Heidi Robins of Nephi, and Ashley Peterson, 2nd attendant, daughter of Dr. Doug and Fran Peterson of Nephi. The new royalty will reign over this week’s fair activities.

Fair week began with the crowning of this year’s royalty on Monday night, August 6, at the Juab Junior High School. Six girls vied for the title. Kysia Poulsen of Levan walked away with the crown and the title of Miss Juab County 2018. Her attendants are Hannah Robins, 1st attendant, and Ashley Peterson, 2nd attendant. Poulsen performed a piano solo entitled “Polonaise in G Minor” by Frederik Chopin. Her “Hall of Fame” presentation was of Shamri Wright Johnson, former Miss Juab County 2nd attendant and past fair participant. She is a 2018 JHS graduate and will be attending Dixie State University in the fall. Robins performed a piano solo entitled “Dragon Fly” by Melody Bober. Her “Hall of Fame” presentation was of Kristen Christensen, past winner of the Fair Idol competition. She is a 2018 JHS graduate and will be attending Southern Utah University in the fall. Peterson performed a vocal solo entitled “ Love Me, Love Me Not” by Joey Contreras. Her “Hall of Fame” presentation was of Emma Brooks, Miss Juab County 2015. She is a 2018 JHS graduate and will be attending Utah State University in the fall. The royalty will reign over this week’s fair activities. LouAnn Thalman, pageant committee chairman, was presented with a “Hall of Fame” award. Kurt Memmott and Tate Shepherd each received a Junior Fair Board Scholarship award. Miss Juab County 2017 royalty—Queen Saige Cowan, 1st attendant Kemri Buck, and 2nd attendant Marissa Richardson—emceed the night’s event.
