Dr. Kirk Wright has been re-appointed and a district administrative and a Juab High School activity salary package adopted.
Administrators in Juab School District receive a salary package different from that of teachers.
Juab School District Board of Education members reviewed the proposed administrative salary package for the 2007 to 2008 school year.
“The package includes a 5 percent cost of living adjustment, and 85/15 percent share of health insurance premiums and applicable step adjustments,” said Darin Clark, business administrator.
Wright was re-appointed to serve as superintendent for another two year term.
“He will receive the same compensation package as other administrators in the district,” said Delanie Hathaway, board president.
That means that Wright will also receive a 5 percent cost of living adjustment, the 85/15 percent share of health insurance premiums and applicable step adjustments.
For instance, with an 85/15 provision, the district covers 85 percent of the expenses of health insurance package and the insured must pay the remaining 15 percent.
Activity salaries increased at one-half of the negotiated certified salary increase.
“This year, certified salaries increased by 3 percent,” said Clark. “So, the proposed activity salary increase is for 1.5 percent.”
Lane changes are granted for continued education on the part of educators and step changes are granted for educators and administrators as a reward for experience for each year the individual continues to serve in the district.
Steps are pay increases. A step system is a salary structure with standard progression rates established within a pay range for a job. Employees may progress from step to step based on the criteria set by the district.
