The zone was changed in the area of Stone Ridge
Subdivision for both Plats A and B.
"The planning commission, after holding a public
hearing, has recommended that the council consider changing
the zoning on property contained in Stone Ridge
Subdivision," said Randy McKnight, city administrator.
City Council Attorney Denton Hatch prepared an
ordinance to change the zoning from Combined Use (CU) to
Single-Family Residential (R-1).
"Originally, in that area, there was a mix of
residential and commercial areas," said McKnight.
However, he said, now that the land had been sold and
was intended for residential use, the zone should be changed
to reflect that use.
Brett Ludlow, of Ludlow Engineering and engineer for
the project, said that the mud drilling building, built by
Verl Wilkey, will remain in a CU zone from that building,
east in a triangle shape, to the freeway.
The subdivision runs south and east on south side of
1300 South Street in Nephi.
