Sarah Talbot
Sarah Emma Twitchell Talbot, age 89, passed away on
Saturday, Aug. 21, 2004 in Delta, Utah. She was born March
25, 1915 in Cannonville, Garfield County, Utah, to Angus
Tillman Twitchell and Elizabeth Ann Mangum Twitchell , the
7th of 9 children.
She graduated from Delta High School. She married
Cloyd Alden Talbot on Nov. 27, 1934 in the Salt Lake LDS
Temple. He passed away June 1991. They were the parents of 3
children: LuOna, Richard Norman, and Arnold Cloyd. Emma was
active in the Oak City Ward and served in every
organization, including president of the MIA and in the
Presidency of the Relief Society. She and Cloyd were temple
workers for many years.
Emma lived all of her life, after her marriage, in the
same home Cloyd had grown up in. Emma worked for 17 years in
the lunch kitchen at Delta High School. She and Cloyd made
donuts for Halloween for many years.
Emma is survived by her daughter, LuOna (Clark)
Prisbrey of Nephi; son, Arnold (Leslie) Talbot of Oak City;
daughter-in-law, LuDean (Lee) Sperry, Nephi; 14
grandchildren; 46 great-grandchildren; and 5
great-great-grandchildren. She was proceeded in death by her
parents; brothers and sisters, Roy Twitchell, Cyrus
Twitchell, Mildred Willden, Ancil Twitchell, Dehna Watts,
Una Willden, Randolph Twitchell, and Bessie Webb; husband,
Cloyd; son, Richard; and grandson, Terry Talbot.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, Aug. 25,
2004 at 1:00 p.m. with viewing from 12:00 until time of
services in the Oak City 2nd Ward Chapel. Internment in Oak
City Cemetery.
