
CHECKING OUT THE FIRE A lonely

There are three wildfires burning in Juab County as of
Tuesday, August 10, according to the Richfield Interagency
Fire Center.
The three are the Salt Creek Fire, the Chriss Canyon Fire
and the Windy Road Fire.
The Salt Creek Fire began on Monday, Aug. 9, the Chriss
Canyon Fire began on Sunday, Aug. 8, and the Windy Road Fire
began on Monday, Aug. 9.
The 1,800-acre Salt Creek Fire is burning out of control
South of Levan, and is 0 percent contained.
No containment date has been estimated. Cause of the fire
is a lightning holdover from an earlier strike.
Currently called to fight the fire is one type-3 team,
one engine, two helicopters, one hand crew, and one mass
plane.
The Chriss Canyon Fire has destroyed three acres
and is located one mile West of the Salt Creek Fire near
Levan.
As of Tuesday morning, it was reported as being 0 percent
contained.
Cause of the fire is undetermined and no estimated
containment date has been set.
The Windy Road Fire also began on Monday, Aug. 9. The
three-acre fire is burning West of Nephi at Dog Valley.
It is not contained but two engines have been called to
fight the fire.
The cause of the fire has been isolated as potential
arson.
