  • Trap Champions


WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP • Local youth win National/World Trapshooting Championship. Right to left: Colten Sperry, Nephi, Tyler Davidson, Nephi, Justin Memmott, Nephi, Chance Carter, Goshen, and T.J. Wall, Goshen traveled to Vandalia, Ohio, August 6-11, and won the 1st Place Title in the 104th Grand American World Trapshooting Tournament, Hall of Fame Youth Competition, Junior High Division.  Teams from across the United States and Canada competed in this event. The Utah team shot extremely well, and Chance Carter shot a perfect score of 100/100.  The team's photo and competition results will be featured in the International 'Trap and Field Magazine' and their names will be placed in the World Trapshooting Hall of Fame. The Junior Team, including Hayden Johnson, Spanish Fork (missing from photo) also finished 7th overall in the National Scholastic Youth Trapshooting Competition. Individual honors went to T.J. Wall in the 'Debra Ohye National Class B Doubles competition for scoring 98 out of 100. All six boys are coached by John Warner of Nephi.  They are sponsored by the Nephi Gun Club and the Spanish Fork Gun Club.
