  "Celebrate America" was the theme of the 2002 Miss Juab County Queen Pageant. The Pageant was held Monday, Aug. 5, with a totally patriotic emphasis. Marines, in full dress uniform, served in the presentation of the colors. They also served as escorts to the Pageant contestants. The Marines are members of the 2nd Battalion 23rd Marine 4th Marine Division, Fox Company. A special tribute was given to the veterans in attendance.

Annalee Lundell, daughter of Gary and Leanna Lundell of Nephi, was crowned Queen. In September, she will represent Juab County at the Utah State Fair Queen Pageant. For her talent, she performed a ragtime number on the piano.

Katie Sutherland, daughter of Jim and DeAnn Sutherland of Mona, was crowned 1st Attendant. For her talent she performed a tap dance routine. Jill Dinkel, daughter of Kathy Dinkel of Nephi and Brad Dinkel of Payson, recited an original poem entitled "The Difference."

The new Royalty will reign over the activities at the 2002 Juab County Fair, which runs through Saturday, Aug. 10. See a schedule at left.
