Maxine Painter
Maxine Sperry Painter passed away peacefully at her home
in Nephi, Utah, Aug. 6, 2001.
Maxine was born to Ora Price and Joy Dellrain Sperry,
Nov. 17, 1913. She married Reese Painter June 13, 1942, in
Ft. Lewis, Washington, where he was serving in the U.S.
Army. They moved to Levan and later Nephi where they have
spent the last 59 years. Their marriage was solemnized in
the Manti LDS Temple on June 13, 1959.
Maxine was active in the LDS Church where she held
numerous callings. She loved teaching her little Sunday
School Class, where she taught for 25 years. She was also a
Visiting Teacher for many years. She was a member of the
Nephi Women's Federated Club where she held various
offices.
Maxine is survived by her husband, Reese; 5 children,
Blair (Susan), Duane (Diana), Donna (Loren) Callaway, Robert
(Beverly), and Kathryn, all of Nephi; 19 grandchildren; and
12 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her
parents, brother Dell (Jacketta) Sperry, sisters Joy (Jess)
Young and Martha Sperry.
Funeral services will be held Friday, Aug. 10, 2001, at
11:00 a.m. at the Nephi 8th Ward Chapel. Viewing will be
held Thursday, Aug. 9, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Anderson
Funeral Home and one hour prior to services.
Glen Belliston
David Glen Belliston, age 77, passed away Aug. 7, 2001,
after a long struggle with diabetes. He was born Dec. 30,
1923, to George and Mary Belliston in Nephi, Utah.
He attended school in Nephi where he was active in
sports. He served 4 years in the Air Force during World War
II. He married Evelyn Adell Rutherford in 1946 in Murray,
Utah. She passed away in 1961. The marriage was later
solemnized in the Manti LDS temple. He married Mildred
Bjarnson Hill in 1964. The marriage was later solemnized in
the Salt Lake LDS temple.
He was very active in the LDS Church. He served as
bishop in the Salisbury ward in Salisbury, North Carolina.
He was involved in the Boy Scout program for 42 years. He
was awarded the Most Valuable Scoutmaster award in 1963 and
the Silver Beaver award in 1964. He worked at NRP in Nephi
for 42 years as a hose design engineer.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn, his
parents, a brother and sister, and a grandson.
He is survived by his wife, Mildred, and eight
children: Jan (Karen) Belliston , Ocean Park, Washington;
Janet (Mike) Cutler of Henderson, Nevada; Gail (Karl) Kay of
Lawrence; Arden (Ranae) Hill of Airdrie, Canada; Kimberly
(Wolfgang) Merz of Falls Church, Virginia; Kyle Belliston of
Falls Church; Ruth Hatch of Clearfield; and Jeffrey
Belliston of Nephi; and one sister, Donna Walker of Murray;
27 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Aug. 11, 2001, at
the Nephi Stake Center, Nephi, Utah. Burial in Vine Bluff
Cemetery, Nephi, Utah.
Vinnie Robison
Vinnie May Robison, age 74, passed away Aug. 12, 2001, in
Nephi, Utah.
She was born May 1, 1927, in Nephi to James Arthur and
Vinnie Angel Memmott. She married Harold "Hap" Robison Oct.
13, 1950. The marriage was later solemnized in the Manti LDS
Temple May 28, 1966.
She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ
of Latter-day Saints. She was supportive and encouraging to
her family.
She is survived by her five children, Jessie (Bruce)
Carwall of Lakepoint, Junior (Nancy) Robison of Moroni, Faye
(Dennis) Dodds of Fairview, Mary Goodie of Fountain Green,
Eddie (Molly) Robison of Moroni; sister, Ethel (Herman) Cole
of Kentucky; five brothers, Dave (Ardella) Memmott of
Garland, Pete (Sharlene) Memmott of St. George, Dan (Wanda)
Memmott of Nephi, Tom (Marie) Memmott of Nephi, and Heley
Memmott. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold
Robison, Nov. 5, 1998; brother, Art Memmott and sister,
Rosey Memmott.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday,
Aug. 16, 2001, in the Moroni Stake Center. Friends may call
Wednesday evening from 6-8 p.m. at Anderson Funeral Home, 94
West 300 North, Nephi, and at the church one hour prior to
services.
