The 2001 Juab County Fair officially began Monday, Aug. 6, with the Miss Juab County Pageant. Seven contestants vied for the title. The new royalty will reign over this year's County Fair activities. The newly crowned Queen will represent Juab County at the 2001 Utah State Fair in September. Marci Blackett, daughter of Morris and Lisa Blackett, was crowned Miss Juab County 2001. Marci performed a jazz dance routine for her talent presentation. 1st Attendant Mary Dawn Sperry is the daughter of Craig and Mary Lou Sperry. She performed "Fantasie Impromptu" by Chopin on the piano. 2nd Attendant Lynsey Stoddard is the daughter of Mark and LeAnn Stoddard. She performed "Scherzo" by Mendehlsson on the piano. The Pageant MCs were Raymond Nielsen and Lynette Harmon. Specialty numbers were performed by Miss Juab County 2000 Nettie Smalley, Shane Howarth, Diana's Dance Works, Lisa's Dance Shoppe, Raymond Nielsen, Lynette Harmon, and Trish Rindlisbacher. Juab County Commissioner Wm. Boyd Howarth presented the new royalty with awards. |
