Chad P. Winn was born and raised in Nephi. He is a graduate of Juab High School. He attended Snow College and then served a mission to the Northern States Mission. After his mission he attended Utah State University where he served on the Student Council, was President of the Rodeo Club, and a member of the rodeo team. He graduated from USU with a degree in Elementary Education. It was at USU he met and married Vernice Kotter. They are the parents of four children, and have 14 grandchildren.
Chad has served as a Bishop and a counselor in the Nephi North Stake Presidency in the LDS church. He taught school for 32 years in Tooele and Juab School Districts. He has been involved with the 4-H program being a leader in the 4-H Horse program for over 30 years. He served on the Juab County Fair Board for 22 years and then became President of the County Fair Board, serving as President for the last 15 years. He is now serving as a Juab County Commissioner.
Chad raises cattle and horses. Rodeo and horses have always been a part of his life. He helped start the first Juab High School Rodeo Club in 1957. He was President of the Snow College Rodeo Club, the Utah State University Rodeo Club, and the Rocky Mountain Rodeo Association. He has served as an advisor to the High School Rodeo Club, and now helps with the Central Utah Junior Rodeo Association. He still trains horses and team ropes. He is a member of the Nephi Nebo Posse and has been the high point man for the past two years.
Chad is a graduate of the Western College of Auctioneering in Billings, Montana. He has been the auctioneer for the Juab County Fair Auction, for the Panorama Horse Show Stallion Auction, and various other fund-raising auctions. He loves to do Cowboy Poetry and has entertained at many community functions.
