A negotiated settlement was made with Juab School
District educators.
"The negotiation settlement with certified staff includes
a 3.85 percent cost-of-living increase," said Delanie
Hathaway, board vice president.
Step and lane changes were also approved at the
conclusion of board meeting.
"We will also change from PEHP's Silver health insurance
plan to PEHP's Bronze plan," she said.
Juab School District negotiates with the certified staff
each year to come up with an acceptable wage and benefits
package.
Teachers elect representatives and board members appoint
three of there body to meet together to consider items where
educators would appreciate board support in addition to
discussing wage increases.
The discussions between the teachers and district
representatives are an open forum which offer a medium of
open discussion or voicing of ideas.
Questions are asked and answers given.
Board members agreed that the format was helpful to both
sides.
