Ray Winter
Ray Edward Winter, age 81, passed away July 18, 2001, at
his home in Levan, Utah.
He was born Jan. 23, 1920, in Levan to Peter Christian
and Marnie Crystal Jennings Winter. He married Mary Jane
Jensen Dec. 6, 1939, in the Manti LDS Temple. She died Jan.
24, 1992. Ray married Nola Peterson Nov. 6, 1994.
Ray was a farmer for many years. He also worked at
Nephi Rubber and retired form there. He was a member of the
LDS Church and held the office of High Priest at the time of
his death. He enjoyed camping, hunting and fishing, and was
a great outdoorsman. He was campground host at Payson Lakes
for many years.
He is survived by his wife, Nola, of Levan; a
daughter, Bonnie (Larry) Nielsen of Riverton; sons, Bruce
(Janice) Winter of Riverton; and Craig (Cindee) Winter of
West Jordan; 10 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren; a
sister, Norma Anderson of Levan. He was preceded in death by
his parents, and a brother, Lamar Winter.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. (today)
Wednesday, July 25, 2001, in the Levan LDS Chapel, 25 North
100 East. Friends may call one hour prior to the services at
the church. Burial will be in the Levan Cemetery.
