Roger Jorgenson

Roger was born in Mt. Pleasant, Utah and raised in Manti. He graduated from Manti High School where he was active in many sports.

While attending Snow College, Roger met GayDene Harmon of Nephi. They were later married and moved to Nephi. Roger and GayDene have four children: Cindy Cook, Wendy Burk, Kim Jorgensen, Mike Jorgensen and fifteen grandchildren.

Roger worked with the Nephi turkey operation for several years. After returning from college, he joined Nephi Rubber Products, where he has been employed for thirty-five years, the last fifteen years as general manager.

He has served and currently is serving in positions in his church. He retired from the Utah National Guard after 25 years, having served overseas with the 1457th Combat Engineers during Desert Storm. Roger served as the first commander of the Juab County Search and Rescue Patrol, being an active member for the last thirty-five years. He is also a long-time member of the Nephi Nebo Posse.

During his early years, Roger spent his time on the Sanpete Mountains herding and being with the sheep. He still finds great pleasure spending as much time as possible on the mountain with his family doing those same things. He enjoys hunting and camping. Roger's favorite hobby is raising and racing his quarter horses
