Bessie Park Jones
|
Bessie Park Jones has been selected by the Nephi Kiwanis Club to be the Grand Marshal of the 2001 Mammoth Parade. Bessie Park Jones was born at Starr, Utah. She is the youngest of 10 children of Ruby and Heber Fowkes and was educated in the Mona Grade School and Juab High School. She attended Henager's Business College in Salt Lake City. Her work experience includes secretary, bank employee and she has taught piano for many years. She married her high school sweetheart Marvin Park after graduation from high school. Marvin died in 1989. She married Garald (Lonnie) Jones in 1995. She is the mother of 5 children, Linda Jane (Larry) Jenkins, Thomas Duane (Lynn) Park, Pamela Renee (Greg) Brown, JuliAnn Park, and Barbara Park. She has eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She is active in her church and has served in many positions. She has served missions to Louisiana and London England. She has served as a ordinance worker in both the London and Manti LDS Temples. She has served on the Juab Company DUP Board for 8 years, four in music and four as President. She is responsible for obtaining numerous grants that have provided funds for the Juab Company DUP Museum. She is co-editor of the Legacy yearbook for the Juab High School Centennial Celebration. |
