Rulon Broadhead
Rulon Nile Broadhead, age 89, passed away July 7, 2000,
in Nephi, Utah. He was born June 24, 1911, in Nephi to
Samuel Daken and Alice Ann Carter Broadhead. He married Amy
Irene Haycock Oct. 10, 1934, in Salt Lake City. The marriage
was later solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple on Apr. 17,
1935.
He was a long-time resident, farmer, and businessman of
Nephi serving his community in many ways. He was an active
member of the LDS Church, serving in many positions
throughout his life. He was a chartered member of the Nephi
Lions Club.
He is survived by his wife of Nephi; children, Merrill
James Broadhead, Janice Broadhead Mortensen, Niles Rulon
Broadhead, Kathy Broadhead, and Suzy Broadhead; 12
grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren; sisters, Blanch
Broadhead Evans, and Faye Broadhead Lundquist. He was
preceded in death by brothers and sisters, Daken Karl
Broadhead, Sheldon James Broadhead, Valate B. Christensen,
and Fern B. Muir Degner.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, July
13, 2000, in the Nephi LDS 8th Ward, 222 South 100 East.
Friends may call Wednesday evening from 6-8 p.m. at the
Anderson Funeral Home, 94 West 300 North, Nephi, and at the
church one hour prior to the services. The burial will be in
Vine Bluff Cemetery Nephi, Utah.
Ralph Menlove
Ralph William Menlove, age 73, passed away July 3, 2000.
Ralph was born Jan. 11, 1927, the 4th child to Walter Leo
and Rhea Taylor Menlove in Payson, Utah. He married VaLoy
Keetch on June 18, 1948, in the Manti LDS Temple. They are
the parents of 6 children.
Ralph graduated from Payson High School, served in the
Military, graduated from Brigham Young University, and
received a Masters degree from the University of Utah. He
was an educator, a teacher at Payson High School,
administrator for Sevier School District, and Superintendent
of Juab School District. Ralph's career was tragically cut
short and his personal life drastically changed when he was
injured in a car accident in November 1971. Ralph was active
in the LDS Church, and served in various callings, including
high councilman at the time of his accident.
Ralph is survived by VaLoy and their 6 children, Neal
(Terry) Menlove, Sheri (Devon) Vickers, Martell (Ronda)
Menlove, JoDene Arakelian, Nathan (Teresa) Menlove, and
Carolee (Don) Child; 24 grandchildren; and 1
great-grandchild; 2 brothers, Max Menlove and Robert
Menlove; 2 sisters, Ruth Ann Wheeler, and LouDene Peery. He
was preceded in death by his parents, brother Ted and
grandson Richard Menlove.
Funeral services were held July 7, 2000, in the Nephi LDS
3rd Ward. Burial in the Orem City Cemetery.
