Bob Day has been chosen as the Grand Marshal of the
Western Parade on Thursday by the Nephi Nebo Posse, sponsor
of the parade.
When told that he had been chosen as this year's Grand
Marshal, Day said, "It is a great honor to represent the
Nephi Nebo Posse and the Ute Stampede Rodeo as the Western
Parade Grand Marshal."
Bob and his wife Nan have four children. They and their
spouses are: Todd and Cheryl, Russ and Edria, Shane,
Stephanie and Hadley. He is the proud grandfather of
Klancie, Brandon, Ashley, Devun and Krystal. His parents are
Don and Ula Day. He works for Juab County as the Building
and Grounds Superintendent.
He has been a member of the Nephi Nebo Posse since 1965
and served as President in 1971 and 1982. He won
"Outstanding Horseman" and the "Outstanding Horse" award for
several years. He participates in the State Riding Club meet
every year.
Bob says that one of his most rewarding experiences was
the years of association with Juab and State High School
Rodeo teams. He served as advisor for 27 years for the Juab
team and served three terms on the State Board for High
School Rodeo.
He was a member of the Nephi Jaycee's, a leader for the
4-H, President of Little League Wrestling, President of
Little League Baseball and an officer for Little League
Football. He was a member of the Nephi Volunteer Fire
Department for 22 years before retiring and is now a member
of the State Association. He served as the Chief of the
department for several years.
He is presently a member of the Ute Stampede Committee
and has served for eleven years. He currently serves as
Secretary and Treasurer and has served as President for two
terms.
A horseman for all of his life, he enjoy riding during
family outings and enjoys family camping and hunting
trips.
