Anyone want to chair the Mammoth Parade on Nephi’s Main Street during the Ute Stampede this year?
The city, which appoints a chair for the event, has had no takers to date.
Mark Jones, mayor, said the council was interested in anyone who would like to donate good volunteer community service.
“This is not a year-round project,” said Jones.
Glenn Greenhalgh, city planning commission chairman, has all of the information from the past year in the computer so that new ground would not need to be plowed—old contacts for bands and for cities who usually send floats are available.
Keeping those contacts and then building on the base, would continue to make the job less stressful for volunteers in the future.
“Time is getting short,” said Jones.
Kent Park, council member, has been looking for some person who would like the job.
