Paul Orme
Max Paul Orme, age 64, of Orting, Washington, died June
16, 2004 from cancer. Funeral services were held in
Bellevue, Washington, on Monday, June 21.
A viewing will be held Thursday, June 24, 12:00 p.m at
Anderson Mortuary in Nephi, Utah. Interment will follow at
Vine Bluff Cemetery.
Paul was born and raised in Nephi, graduating from
Juab High School and University of Utah. He served a mission
for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in
Sweden, followed by serving in the Army Reserve.
He was married to Karen Ann Shepherd in Aug. 1964, and
together they have raised a son and five daughters. He has
18 grandchildren. He served as a High Councilman, as a
Seattle Temple worker, and in many other positions in the
Church.
Paul's interests were the outdoors, tennis, the Civil
War, chess, working hard, and serving others. He worked as
an accountant and tax preparer EA.
Paul was preceded in death by his parents, Max and
Natalie Orme; and a sister, Cherry. He is survived by his
wife, Karen; sisters, Nancy Anderson, Patricia Gordon, and
Victoria Orme; brothers, John, Bevan, and Alden Orme;
children, Kenyon Orme, Kari Houldridge, Marsali Monson,
Jennifer Mahon, Kristina Miller, and Melinda Patterson; and
18 grandchildren.
Jennie Lyon
Jennie Howard Lowry Lyon, age 86, passed away at
Golden Skyline Assisted Living in Ephraim, Utah, on June 19,
2004. Jennie was born July 30, 1917 in
Nephi, Utah, to George Edward Howard and Charlotte Anna
Adams Howard. She was the ninth of 10 children. She was
raised in Nephi and Mills, Utah.
Jennie was a graduate of Juab High School. She served
a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day
Saints in Northern California. She married Lester Jay
Lowry June 14, 1948 in the Manti LDS Temple. Together
they had two children, Charlotte and Michelle. Jay passed
away Nov. 27, 1970. She married Alburn Lyon in the
Manti Temple on Nov. 19, 1987. Alburn passed away May
16, 1995.
Jennie was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of
Latter-day Saints. She held many church callings.
Visiting teacher, MIA, Primary Teacher and President, Relief
Society 1st Counselor, Spiritual Living Teacher, Snow
College 4th Ward Advisor, Relief Society 1st Ward Adviser,
Manti Temple Ordinance Worker Supervisor and helped
Sew Mormon Miracle Pageant costumes for several years. She
worked for Central Utah Mental Health and University of Utah
Extension until she retired.
She enjoyed the Manti Activity Club, working in her
flower and rock gardens, reading poetry, going for
walks, sewing, netting, pottery, drawing, and music. She
complied over 60 books of history of the family and
genealogy work. She loved animals.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband,
Lester Jay Lowry; 2nd husband, Alburn Lyon; brothers and
sisters, Florence Howard, Ivan Howard, Gilbert Howard, Dean
Howard, Charlotte Howard Hansen, Mabel Howard Jensen, Sadie
Howard Greenhalgh; daughter, Maxine Lowry Howe; grandsons,
David Poulson, Doug Poulson. She is survived by her
children, Charlotte Lowry Christiansen (William Kay)
of Mayfield, Michelle Lowry Anderson of Roy, Marjorie Lowry
Poulson (Willis) of Redmond, Dale J. Lowry (LaRee) of Manti;
sisters, Martha Howard Collett of St. George, Minnie Howard
Penny of Washington, Utah; and a special son, William D.
Howard of Nephi; 14 grandchildren; 13
great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held June 22, 200 in the Manti
Tabenacle. Interment in Manti City Cemetery.
