MORMON CRICKETS Jeff Banks, Juab County
Extension Agent, holds a "Mormon Cricket." These
are the first crickets seen in the Juab Valley for
many years, according to Banks and Robert Garrett,
Juab County Road Supervisor on whose land these
were found. Cricket bait is available by contacting
Banks at 623-3450 or Garrett at the County road
shed. According the Garrett, Seagulls are again
helping with the battle and can be seen in the
morning and evening feasting on the insects. The
Crickets are on the move and are moving east onto
the irrigated crop lands.
