Nelda Haney
Nelda Loretta Ord Haney, age 79, passed away June 8,
2000, in Nephi, Utah. She was born Sept. 15, 1920, in Nephi
to George and Loretta Russell Ord. She was the sixth of
seven children. She married Albert Haney on July 23, 1946,
in Green River, Wyoming. Their marriage was solemnized in
the Provo LDS Temple on Jan. 6, 1979.
Nelda was an active member of the LDS Church. She was
a member of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers, and the American
Legion Auxiliary. She loved to play the piano.
She is survived by her children George (Helen) Haney
of Payson, Karen (LeRoy) Tharp of West Jordan, Thomas
(Ginger) Haney of John Day, Oregon, Terry (Karen) Haney of
Salt Lake City, Richard Haney of Nephi, and Cheryl Haney of
Murray; sister, Ruth Ord Beck of Nyssa Oregon; 23
grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. She was preceded
in death by her husband, three brothers, two sisters and a
granddaughter.
Funeral services were held June 12, 2000, in the Nephi
Stake Center. Interment at Vine Bluff Cemetery, Nephi,
Utah.
