Norma Bailey

Norma Edna Gardner Bailey passed away June 4, 2000, at her daughter's home in Riverton, Utah.

She was born March 11, 1913, in Levan, Utah, to Mary Eliza Mangelson and Richard Henry Gardner. She married Jesse Allgood Bailey on Oct. 28, 1936, in the Manti LDS Temple. He passed away Aug. 8, 1995.

She served in many positions in the LDS Church, including Stake Primary Presidency, Ward Relief Society President, Counselor, and leader and teacher in various organizations. In later years, she served as an ordinance worker in the Manti and Provo Temples.

She loved working in her garden, sewing and quilting.

She is survived by three daughters and two sons: Mary (Merlyn) Burraston of West Valley City, Lucille (Michael) Corfield of Riverton, Carl (Claudia) Bailey of Orem, Dale Bailey of West Jordan, and Lois (Vernal) Bateman of Brigham City; 22 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Grant Gardner and Foster Gardner. She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Esther, and four brothers, Elgin, Charles, Russell, and Merlin.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 8, 2000, in the Nephi Stake Center, 351 North 100 West. Friends may call Wednesday evening from 6-8 p.m. at the Anderson Funeral Home, 94 west 300 North, and at the church from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. prior to services. Interment will be in Nephi City Cemetery.
