Five young women stood on the stage, holding hands, to await the outcome of the 2019 Miss Nephi Scholarship Pageant. With much anticipation from the audience, Jaida Stephenson, daughter of Jeff and Kim Stephenson, was named the new Miss Nephi. She received a $1,000 scholarship. Her attendants are Maddison Webster, 1st attendant, daughter of Jonathan and Brandi Webster. She received a $700 scholarship. Taizlee Ostler was named 2nd attendant. She is the daughter of Travis and Angie Ostler. She received a $600 scholarship. All of the royalty will also receive a crown, sash, flowers and a parade dress. Stephenson performed a tumbling/cheer routine for her talent. Her platform is “Promoting Patriotism”. She was also the recipient of the Spirit of the Pageant award and $100. Webster performed a piano solo for her talent. Her platform is “Spoonful of Love”, fighting hunger in schools. She was also the recipient of the Talent award $300 and the Academic award $300. Ostler performed a vocal solo for her talent. Her platform is “You-er than You”, promoting positive body image. The recipient of the Miss Photogenic award was Kiara Mogle who received $100. Brenda McPherson was the recipient of the Woman of Achievement award for 2019. Miss Nephi 2018 Jaicee Hair and Miss Utah 2018 Jesse Craig emceed the event. |
