Carma Hanson
1925-2006

Carma Bunker Hanson, age 81, passed away May 19, 2006 in Delta, Utah. She was born January 26, 1925 in Delta to Rex Albert and Mary Slaughter Bunker. She married her high school sweetheart Burton Lowell Hanson on December 9, 1944 in Provo. The marriage was later solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple. He died October 9, 2002.

Carma's love for her family led her to a lifetime occupation of homemaking and family history research. She was especially proud of her pioneer heritage and was a member of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers. Carma also enjoyed her employment at First Security Bank for seven years which led her to a hobby of coin collecting. Carma was an active member of the LDS Church. She served as Primary President, Stake Co-Pilot leader, Stake Family History Specialist and many other positions. Carma will be remembered for her enthusiastic whistle while working in her flower garden.

She is survived by her 4 children: David (Deloris) Hanson, Midvale, UT; Marcia (Lee) Tippetts, Sutherland, UT; Kim (Lynnette) Hanson, Leamington, UT; Shauna (Bill) Nelson, Delta, UT; 18 Grandchildren and 20? Great-Grandchildren; sister: Annette (Val) Harris, Ogden, UT. She is preceded in death by husband: Burton; brother: Russell Bunker.

Funeral services were held on Tuesday, May 23, 2006 at 11 am at the Nickle Mortuary, Delta. Burial Delta Cemetery.


Burnett E. Stephensen
1916~2006

Burnett Earsel Stephensen, age 89, passed away May 17, 2006 in Nephi, Utah.

He was born November 29, 1916 in Levan, Utah, to George Christian and Anna Christina Christensen Stephensen. He married Veda Emma Chase December 24, 1935 in Nephi, Utah. The marriage was later solemnized in the St. George LDS Temple. She died November 17, 2004.

He was a member to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and served in many callings. He loved hunting, fishing, gardening, and the outdoors. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. We love him and will miss him.

Survived by his daughter, Annette (Ron) Parkin; grandchildren, Kip (Elizabeth) Parkin; Kenneth (Janae) Parkin; Kortney (Kayla) Parkin; Kimberly (Don) Roundy; Kris (Mindy) Parkin; Kyle (Chalene) Parkin; 16 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by one son, Richard Stephensen.

Private family services will be held under the direction of the Anderson Funeral Home.
