Peggy Sue Roche Terry
"Together Again"
Peggy passed suddenly and surprisingly into the next
life joining her lifelong lover and husband, Vaughn, on
Monday May 8, 2006 due to a pulmonary embolism.
Born March 1, 1931 in West Point, Mississippi, to Ben
Francis and Gladys Allyne Roche (both deceased); Peggy Sue
had a happy and full childhood living in Mississippi,
Tennessee and southern California. Following a flowering
career in drama and modeling, Peggy decided to join the LDS
church, a very difficult and demanding commitment for a 19
year old acting against her family's wishes. Peggy was
baptized by Vaughn Terry and they were later married on
November 5, 1950 in Colorado Springs, Co; solemnized in the
Manti Temple in 1953.
Peggy and Vaughn had three sons and five daughters.
Vaughn was a career military officer so the world was their
home as they resided in Europe, Asia, and throughout the US,
later settling in Alpine, Nephi and finally Kaysville, Utah.
Wherever they went, the Terry's sought out the local LDS
church and supported it wholeheartedly. Peggy served in
virtually every position in every organization available to
women but particularly enjoyed her seven years with Vaughn
as temple workers and later supervisors at the Manti
Temple.
Peggy was a devoted wife and mother. Her happiest
moments were spending time with her 8 children and their
spouses, 36 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Her
family and her faith were the foundational pillars of her
life. One of the true highlights of her life was being in
the temple with all eight children and their spouses.
Peggy Sue is survived by one brother, Lloyd Carroll
(Joyce), her parents and older brother, Ben Francis Jr. and
sister, Joyce Allyne, are deceased.
Peggy is also survived by all of her children: James
LaGrand (Judy), Stephen Ben (Kellie), John Parshall (Mikey),
Susan Adams (Lyman), Miriam Wolfley (Bruce), Rebecca Louise,
Denise Weight (Mark), and Kathleen Zenger (Dean).
Funeral services were held on Saturday, May 13, at the
Kaysville 17th Ward chapel. Burial at the Salt Lake City
Cemetery. On line quest book, www.russonmortuary.com.
